How to make sense of a life
surrounded by cognitive mining?

Mystical encounter with the earth vs extractivism through technology

Hammann von Mier published this catalogue magazine on the artist’s first solo show at Galerie GEDOKmuc in Munich, 2019. It focuses on the mystical encounter with the earth, the self, the body, rituals, syncretism, and how to balance the influences of technology and cognitive mining through photography, poetry, and drawings from the artist and video stills and documentation from her performances. Images and words melt into a poetic narrative in “Post-Everything Ritualism & Hypernaturality”. Veronika Dräxler also invited various authors to contribute, giving the viewer a refreshing combination of perspectives.

FROM THE CATALOGUE

“I wander through the forest looking for something.
Are you still able to be alone? I know a place where I would love to settle down, it's very close to this portal. It's a wound that doesn't cause harm. See what I have. I close my eyes.”

– Words from Veronika Dräxler, published in the catalogue magazine
